We are committed to teaching the Bible Sunday by Sunday. We don't want to do it haphazardly, so the norm is 'Sunday Stacks' - a pile or bundle of sermons preached over a number of Sundays patterned on working through a Bible book.
Yes, every once in a while we might do something thematic or a 'one-off', but usually it's 'Sunday Stacks'. It tends to prevent the minister riding his favourite hobby-horses, it encourages us to face the Bible's 'hard bits' and it gives us a full-orbed picture not only of what each Bible book is about but what the whole Bible is ultimately saying.
And when we know what the Bible says then we know what God says -when the Bible is explained, we hear the voice of God - and one of the great things about being part of a local church is that we can then encourage each other to do what God says.
